My name is Jessica Coenen, I am a coach and academic (PhD candidate). My coaching experiences ranges from everyday athletes to professional athletes, then from youth to aging athletes. My personal journey began as a ballerina, then varsity athlete at Western University. I went to become a  bodybuilding and now my focus is on coaching athletes.

My coaching style begins with the human, then the athlete followed by performance or sport specific coaching. My background in psychology has enabled me to build a toolbox with many resources related to mental health, motivation, and peak performance, which fits very closely to the human first model.

Furthermore, my experience as an athlete, especially as a dancer has afforded me with a great understanding for body mechanics and movement efficiency, which I use in my coaching on the court, the field and in the weightroom. It is through this human first coaching model - building a strong foundation, that I aim to build champions.
